The New Holland T6050 Elite was an agricultural tractor model made from 2007 – 2012
Overview & History
Part of the T6000 series, the New Holland T6050 tractor was built in Basildon, England from 2007 through 2012. Its variants were Delta (economy), Plus (mid-level), and Elite (premium). This tractor offered familiarity for long-time fans of New Holland but also simplicity for those operating this brand for the first time.
Photo: New Holland T6050
Just like the other tractors in the T6000 series, the T6050 was also fitted with the tried-and-tested 6.7-litre, six-cylinder, New Holland-built FPT engine. Even though this was a tier-three engine, which had long been surpassed by newer higher-tier ones, it still offered the simplicity of a single fuel. This means you will not need to undergo any complicated process in order to meet the higher emissions standards.
The Delta variant was equipped with a dual-command transmission that has 24 forward and reverse gears, with 12 gears having a push-button underdrive of each gear. It also had the New Holland mainstay ElectroShift transmission, which had 16 forward and reverse gears, with every four gears in four ranges. This transmission also featured a push-button power shifting between gears and clutch-free shifting between ranges A-B and C-D. You can also do a synchronised shift from ranges B to C.
Meanwhile, the Plus variant had the ElectroShift transmission as well as the AutoShift, which adds an automatic shifting function to the ElectroShift. As for the Elite variant, it had an AutoShift transmission, which had 16 forward and reverse gears and a hydraulic wet disc. Every four gears were in four ranges, and you can power shift between gears and ranges A-B and C-D. The AutoShift also allowed automatic shifting A, B, and C, and has a road setting for combined ranges C-D. The Economy Shift offered an overdrive 17th gear, while a high-speed option provided a 50 kph high-speed 17th gear.
The T6050 Delta’s main hydraulic pump provided 63 litres per minute, while the Plus and Elite can give 100 litres per minute. Even though the Delta’s number was small, there was a separate dedicated pump with a 40 LPM flow to ensure there was enough oil for steering. There were three remotes fitted into the tractor as a standard and can be mechanically controlled with levers in the cab.
Its rear linkage has a capacity of 3,400 kg (3,900 kg optional) for the Delta, 4,200 kg (4,400 kg optional) for the Plus, and 5,500 kg for the Elite. You can control the lift electronically with the controls found on the right-hand armrest of the operator’s seat.
New Holland’s tractor cabs have always been well-regarded for being spacious, and the T6050 is no different. The large panes of glass in its four-post cab allowed excellent visibility in all directions. It had a large single-piece door that offered easy access, though it was a bit heavy. In the cab, you will find a large, comfortable, adjustable air seat and well-laid-out controls, mostly to the right-hand side of the operator. These were logically grouped together with a few colours, making it easy for new operators to familiarise themselves with.
A popular and reliable model of its series, the New Holland T6050 is a great option for those who are only looking for horsepower without frills.
